This is something random I decided to play around with, a hybrid race of creatures that are dragon/otters.
It was a completely random idea that I thought would be kind of nifty to do, but as I was working on them, I kind of realized that they kind of looked like apoxon's Darkings and the Pandril from Tod Wills' (aka Formidonis) comic Ekwara.
So yeah, epic fail. Go me.
Despite the epic fail, I decided to keep working on them for the heck of it.
I figured that they would be around 4-5 feet tall, their fur color would be kept simple, while their scales would range in colors. Their body structure is pretty much the same, the difference between males and females would be their horn size and that male fur tends to be a bit more 'rugged' and spiky while female fur is softer.
They already started to invade my imagination so I think they could fit in nearly any setting, and I can see them being some pretty good merchants and traders and probably explorers as well.
So...I have no idea if there will be any more of these critters, we'll have to see.
Also, I don't know what to call them, I kind of figured a mashup of dragon and otter would work, but I dunno if I like the combinations I've come up with. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to drop them.
Photoshop 7.
Dragotters and artwork are mine.
