A recent commission. Aspen, a Rocky Mountain horse renjoys the autumnal colours amonst his name sake trees. Had to buy a new tube of yellow to do this painting. A real fun one to paint! 8 1/2x11 acrylic on illustration board.

Oh man, there is so much vivacity in this painting; I love how you executed the black highlights amidst the yellow lighting, and the little dots of blue created by the Stellers' Jays add such a nice color triplet to it all. It reminds me of pleasant memories with Autumn camping up by the birches and aspens in the Sierra Nevada region.
