My Australian Cockroach. Her name is I'ickus. And she is awesome.
You know how most household roaches flee in terror when a light comes on? Well, I'ickus isn't one of those pansy indoor roaches. She's a fighter. She will face you down and *dare* you to come closer. Lights? No problem. Foot? Yeah right. She is the roach who will sit in the middle of the room, and fly at your face and aim for your eyeball, because she's not just A roach, she is THE roach. So the next time you turn on the kitchen light, and there's a roach sitting at your table, monchin on an apple, you should probably just turn around, and walk back the other way. Oh, and turn the light back off when you go.
Vera simply does the most amazing things with bugs, and I simply wouldn't go to anyone else for an insect. All her artwork is just beyond great, and her bugs are just wowwee wonderful.

I love all insects, but there's just something about how a roach moves or something. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't squeam out and start crying, given the option I'd pet/hold/whatnot a roach.. there's just *something* about them that makes my skin crawl. ;p It's probably why I'm making Iick here my first personal suit. XD
Aww man, I hope you don't mind if I use this as inspiration for my own forays into arthropods. I love Vera's work and am actually hoping to commission a full ref sheet of an artistic freedom character from her just because I love how she deals with crossing into the human-bug realm.
