Spaghetti can be done up into so many dishes and be as simple or as fancy as the imagination can conjure. This delightful dish is from the kitchens

Even simple foods can be dressed up and made nice. ^.^ Went to a minor effort with presentation this time so I figured it is something I can upload. I need to start uploading more of my food. :3
Anyway! The only thing truly homemade here are the rolls; the rest is dressing up stuff from the store. The rolls were made from bread dough I prepared in the bread machine. That would be:
1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup), chopped into small pieces
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup warm water
1/4 cup warm milk
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp salt (or 1 1/2 tsp if using unsalted butter)
1 tbs sugar
3 cups flour
1 tbs yeast
Put all the "liquid" ingredients (the first 8) in the breadmaker, then add the flour, then put the yeast on top. Set the machine to the dough cycle and let it go. When the dough is done, goose your oven for a couple minutes to warm it up then turn off. Make a garlic butter spread:
1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup), soft or almost melty
2 tbs ground parmesan
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt (fresh ground sea salt is awesome)
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp paprika
Tear off hunks of dough and roll them into flat squares or triangles with a rolling pin. Use a brush or spoon to paint the spread onto the flattened dough then roll it up and put it on a cookie sheet, preferably one prepped with a silicone mat or a sheet of parchment paper. You should easily get 12 or more rolls this way. Put in the warm oven and leave there to let the dough rise again, and wait a bit.
Closer to dinner time now? Okay! Time for the entree! First, take the sheet of rolls out of the oven and preheat the oven to 375 F / 190 C.
1 pound spaghetti or linguine noodles
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tbs minced garlic
1 pound spicy italian sausage
1 jar spaghetti sauce of your choice
Put a large pot of water on the stove and set it to boil. While waiting, chop up the half onion and saute with some olive oil, the garlic, and the sausage. By the time you're done, the water should be boiling. Put some salt and olive oil in the water along with the noodles (broken in half if you prefer like I do), mix the spaghetti sauce in with the meat and onions, and put the rolls in the oven. Set the timer for 8 minutes for the oven, and set a separate timer for the noodles if they require a different amount. Stir the noodles and stir the sauce as they cook.
As you get towards the end of the cooking time, you will want the following!
2 tbs butter
1/2 cup velveeta
Melt these together in the microwave in a cup, especially one with a spout. Stir when it's melted and then drizzle a bit of it on each of the dinner plates for presentation. After draining the pasta, toss the rest of the melted cheese with the pasta and a bit of olive oil. Spoon some pasta onto each plate, top with some sauce, top with some parmesan and cheddar and blue cheese, then add rolls as desired. :)
Whee!
