I really do work at a Kangaroo exhibit. The one in this is picture is a a Swamp Wallaby named "Rocket". He gets really excited during feeding time and, if he doesn't go first, he either smacks the other joeys around or chews on my shoes. He's actually our mellowest joey so he we bring him out a lot for people to see and play with.
I'll be uploading photos of our other animals and whatnot for a few weeks since I figure people might find it interesting/cool. Feel free to ask questions!

Awwww...
Back when I traveled a lot on business, I'd occasionally get to hang out at the Warratah Wildlife Park outside of Sydney, Australia (not to be confused with Sidney, Nebraska). There are two mods of Eastern Grey Kangaroos there, one that would beg for snacks from the tourists down the hill, and the other preferred to remain up the hill by the trees, napping and taking it easy. I spent quite a bit of time hanging out with the latter group, taking photos. They would often take advantage of my presence by gathering around me, probably figuring I'd keep the screaming children away or at least warn them if any approached.
One day a British couple wandered up the hill and, thinking I worked there, started asking questions. I gave them quite a detailed presentation and a female that was napping in front of me didn't mind me poking at her and manipulating her legs as I explained the mechanics of hopping and the like. The couple were quite amazed and fascinated, but what amazed them most seemed to be that an American had come to be employed as a kangaroo expert in Australia. My response was, "Oh, I don't work here. I'm just hanging out with my friends."
