Didja notice Rarity didn't show up in "Luna Eclipsed"? That's because [a] her scenes got cut for time, and [b] she was exhausted after making all those costumes for everypony. Anyway, here's a thingy I thought of.

I thought the reason Rarity wasn't in the episode was because she was too busy voicing Luna. (=P)

No, meaning Derpy's cheapo brown-bag costume was merely a ruse to lure Twilight into a false sense of thinking Derpy cheaped out this year.

And that's another possibility. There's even a few moments in the episode where Luna sounds a bit like Rarity.

*nod* It's weird how Pinkie and Derpy are almost never seen on screen at the same time... I guess the paper bag wizard had a few tricks up her sleeve after all.

She doesn't just voice Luna and Rarity, she also voices Granny Smith and Zecora. She was EVERYWHERE. XD

C) Rarity's VA is the same as Lunas, and her voice was similar in both forms, so it's unlikely Royal Luna will appear alongside rarity at all.

Oh, I know. I was just supplying a more cynical reason. There are many others, for example, Rarity would simply have made no impact on the story itself, so they decided to just not include her.

The scene Rarity would have been in would show that she would still be working on her costume. There was even a planned scene where Twilight asks Rarity to help Luna look more presentable. Rarity, given a chance to dress a princess, happily agrees and goes way overboard. She ends up dressing Luna in the most girly pink princess dress imaginable. Of course, Luna detests it and just takes it off. Pinkie Pie comes in and sees Luna holding the dress in her mouth. She clamors that Midnight Moon ate a princess and runs away with her group of fillies.

This was all said by Faust herself. Now you know what she was doing. :)

In case you are curious, Rarity was going as an elegant Vampire with a touch of Victorian.
