Hurray! This is my first case of real road rash from my longboard. Just in time for Halloween ^^ This is what happens when you try to do a coleman slide and do it wrong.
I didn't carve into it right so my board didn't slide, but my hand was already on the ground so it was too late to save myself. So my board gave me the middle finger and rode off without me, leaving me to slide on the asphalt lol.
Just to be clear, I was wearing a helmet and slide gloves. ALWAYS use protection kids! :3
Also, before you worry, I did wash it out with water on site and then with soap and water at home. I know to take care of my wounds.

That used to be me when I was a kid lol. Now I was like "Aww shit, I screwed that up. Oh well, time to rinse it out and try again!". I'm kind of disappointed though. I remember road rash hurting more as kid and this is the worst road rash I've ever had (not that this is really that bad).
Exactly! I wasted most of my teenage years sitting in front of a computer so I never realized that. Oh well, no use regretting the past. All I can do is look towards the future of even more road rash and scars of manliness! Not gonna lie though, I'm kind of ashamed that I was only going like 8 MPH when this happened... Oh well, I'm sure I'll be getting plenty of rash when I start going 30+ lol ^^
Yeah, a bit. Its not that bad to be honest. I think the major thing is I made sure to rinse it out immediately to get the dirt out of it, that and I washed it with soap in the shower to fully clean it. It's still throbbing and stinging a little bit, but it's easily manageable.
(ah lol. The coleman slide is a slide where you put your hand on the pavement and push your board out in front of you to either slow down, do a 180, or stop. It's named that because the inventor's name is cliff Coleman)
