Why I haven't been active in the past Couple of Days
Yeah, uh... turns out my model of ASUS gaming laptops is discontinued because the fan is horridly faulty.
The fan's motor is dying out so its being loud and,uh, vibrating. Makes my fingers numb and I can't place it on my lap because in about three minutes, I lose all feeling in my legs.
But yeah, just a heads up, guys. If you're gonna buy an Asus gaming laptop, make sure you got money handy to replace the fan for like the rest of its life. Turns out there was a manufacturing error with the fans, supposedly they fixed it with the latest ones, but yeah, juuust keep a rainy day fund next to you.
Wanna know how great the fans for this laptop are? They're worth just $25, when normally fans I've seen (even for older models) are $50 and up.
Don't get me wrong, the laptop is ORGASMIC, but yeah, that fan.
I was gonna color this in, but the laptop keeps on having little freezes while it readjusts whatever memory its using so it won't overheat itself.

What model are you using? I've got a G60JX i5 platform running 8GB DDR3 (I upgraded the RAM a couple weeks ago), the only issues I have are it takes a while to boot now. The HDD's starting to go, most likely because out of the supposed 500GB (only 446GB that the computer reads), there's about 7GB left free. Thinking of popping in a bigger one to solve that.
I have a G71G, I've heard the G71GX is better at fan life-span.
It sounds like you many need to consider buying a new one soon, or an external, and then wiping out as much as you can. The slowdown at startup is a result of possibly too many programs booting up with the OS you are using.
Memory being used up does indeed cause problems for whatever computer you have, and having only that bit free is very stressing on the memory, since it needs some of that to store temporary files along with Cookies and other tidbits of memory.
I've found that erasing everything in the temp and %temp% files does help quite a bit, though.
Do you have Advance System Care? That can work wonders, especially if you manage to sneak around and get yourself a free Pro Version.

Ahhh, I've heard the same.
I do have a new 750GB hard drive ready to pop in, the problem is I've been trying to clone this drive over so I'm not stuck spending four days installing Windows, installing all of my programs, downloading everything and copying over what I can. I don't mean it's slow on bootup just with Windows. I mean that it takes a good five or ten seconds before the POST image shows up, then it takes a bit more time for Windows to load up. After that though, it's fine. I clear everything out the best I can, believe you me, but I'm down to keeping EXACTLY what I MUST have (save for three Steam games I play pretty damn often).
Yeah, the temp and %temp% files can store quite a bit in data and I clear them out every week. First time I cleared it, those in themselves were taking up over 8GB.
I don't have ASC, no. But I've got enough resources to not really need it. Hope that fan of yours gets fixed up soon, though.
