Something of a Speedpaint I started following soon after the BP/Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill last year (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepwa.....izon_oil_spill). I managed to reach a stalemate in the painting process and it got buried under a mountain of files. When I came across it again, I felt bad leaving this one unfinished, so decided to finish it up recently in an effort to try and get back into my painting groove.
The idea is simple, the worst of the damage done will not always be immediately visible..

Oh Balaa, how much I always adored this painting, I'm so happy you completed and shared it.
I always adore how caring you are with your creations and how gracile and gentle your steps are that you take to complete a painting such as this. If I ever get the chance to watch you paint it will be the most meditative experience I would ever make.
This is a sad yet beautiful painting that shows that death can have as much grace as life.
The subtle yet nearly fading tones of the bird and the sand are lifted by the blood that almost has an oily look. It's a great interpretation of what happened at the oil spill. Thanks so much for sharing. <3

Poor bird .. if the reality would be that graceful I'd say they had a dignified, yet senseless death .. but the reality is far worse.
It are always the pure and innocent beings that have to die for the flaws of humankind .. so sad .. and so unjust.
R.I.P. creatures of the world, who have died due to unknowingness and ignorance of man.
