I couldn't resist. I took a drive through the mountains today. Fantastic road. Two lanes, twisting along the contours of the mountains... then after the summit switchbacking down into the valley with overhanging trees and a bridge over a small river. Fantastic scenery.

This is a stop along the way with a sign (off camera) about Earthquake Country and a map of all the faultlines that run through California. What's amazing to me is that after driving, wind rushing, the exhaust growling as I race up the hills... you get out at a place like this and it is dead quiet. Even compared to the city, it's immediately noticeable how still everything is. One could sit and recharge a while...

And I just noticed today while taking pictures that I lost the center cap off my hub on the back there. >.<
