Okay, I couldn't resist. Just for reference, that's part of it. Granted, this is leading back to civilization, is all downhill and... somewhat more tame than the road a few miles earlier, leading uphill to the summit. Maybe next time I'll see if I can pull off and get a shot of that. But I would be on that road you see there about 10 minutes after taking the picture, listening to the sweet music of my car, double-clutching into sweeping corners...
But twisty two-lane mountain roads are twisty two-lane mountain roads, and I love them all. Maybe soon, I'll go re-attack Angeles Crest, if it's not closed before the summit there. The summit of the road is at around 7500 feet, so there are times when the highway is closed because of snow. There are a few ski runs up there in those mountains. After a good cold storm, you can run the highway and see snow at the side of the road and up in the hillsides. It's more beautiful stuff. And it's got a tunnel! Tunnels are the best...
If you want to virtually drive LTCR, start here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&.....7&om=1
Follow Little Tujunga all the way (way way way!) around until it splits into Placerita Canyon and Sand Canyon. I usually take Placerita Canyon because it winds a bit more and puts you closer to the Valley when it crosses the CA-14. But there's an In-n-Out at the freeway and Sand Canyon... good way to end a mountain road run. ^_^
