Aesthetically this piece looks simply amazing.
The backdrop looks very refined and detailed with the foreground looking just as sharp. Perhaps the sharpness might be too perfect- if that makes any sense. In particular, the "arc of light" has very defined edges that may break the viewer out of the scene's illusion. But at the same time, it is a subtle detail that draws the eyes of the audience, making it a focal point. But what am I saying? The stone arch IS in the title so no reason that it shouldn't be a focal point. :3
There is also plenty of symbolism for the audience to interpret. That intention definitely was not subtle. ^_^; Many of the elements of this submission strives toward that long journey kind of vibe- from the color scheme, shading to the mountain surrounding the valley with an endless winding road.
