Definitely true. People get so caught up in what they don't have and focusing on the future, they don't focus on what they DO have right here and now. Taking the time to appreciate what we have rather than what we don't makes people a lot happier. They don't realize how bad it could be.
I'm happy to have a roof over my head, a loving and caring mate (best thing ever happened to me I tell ya), food and drink, my own clothes, a private room, my own laptop, internet (OH GOD THIS IS SO WONDERFUL ;w; ) and paper and pencil to draw with. Of course there are other things I want but I realize that I already have much more than I need and quite enough to keep me content and preoccupied/entertained for the most part. c:
