This is my brothers Australian Shepherd (yes his name is DEAF Andy). He is what's known as a "Double merle" the Merle gene causes the pure white coats and is rare and highly desired.

Unscrupulous breeders however will breed two dominant merle gene dogs together and causes problems such as a lack of pigment in the skin. Dogs need pigment in their ears in order to hear (I did not know that until recently). Deaf Andy also has misshapen irises.

Deaf dogs can bark although it can sound odd at times. They also have very pink noses and skin. Deaf dogs have also been known to fixate on shadows, chasing them.

He is permanently bunny soft but sheds like a fur grenade.

He is extremely intelligent. Knows which drawers his toys are in, has been taught to sit, lay, roll over, jump up, and loves to roughhouse.

I think he sleeps like a fox with his paw tucked behind his muzzle.
