Me in my Halloween costume this year. I am getting ready for the Haunted Trail event (see journal for full description) The very cute furball I am sitting on is Faith, Skye's very laid back Drum Horse.

Yes she is, she is also as sweet as she is beautiful too.

Is Skye a spotted draft or a Gypsy Vanner with her feather's pruned?

Faith is a Drum Horse which is Gypsy Vanner crossed with a Shire. Skye is Faith's owner.

Oops, my bad. Figured it had Vanner in it. Looked like one who had it's feathers shorn. I have a draft of my own, but she's "just" a Belgian. :)

Faith swims her feather off in the pond in the pasture she lives in with three Arabians. With the heat this summer, she did a lot of swimming so she has very little feather left.
I am not familiar with Belgians.

Belgians are a draft horse that the Amish commonly used. We have her, we have a blind appaloosa gelding, a blind appaloosa mare, and a 35 year old QH... then a rescued roaned out paint that we're adopting out soon, if things go right.

I found a picture of a Belgian in my horse breed book, quite a magnificent creature.
Quite the stables you have. I hope you will post more pictures of them, I love seeing other people's critters.

Gaaahhhh! my hubby and I got to visit a stable that bred gypsy and drum horses a few years back. They are SUCH beautiful horses!

Also, that costume is gorgeous. Lovely detailing!
