Commission for
remma. Sketch in Sai. This is just the sketch WIP -- I just liked it so much I had to post it (plus I haven't had anything to post in so long! :D) I hear she likes it quite a bit, which made my day. <3
Since this is a sketch, I will go ahead and ask: HELP ME MAKE MY CLOTHING FOLDS NOT SUCK SO BADLY. I seriously have read every book and tutorial on the planet and I still suck ass. Should I just buy some fabric and a coatrack and spend a few days screwing around with them? ; ; Why am I so horrible.

I'm actually bummed that I can't just start inking and coloring it today, but I promised I'd get through all the sketches for my queue and then I'm going to continue in order, so it'll be a while before I return to Izar here. :D Sigh, it's just so much easier for me to really focus on composition and color with humanoids, for me. I don't have to worry quite as much about getting everything right because I've had a lot more practice with them. My anthros need sooo much work ; ;
Ahhh well I'm sure it'll be soon we can see it all finished up! I love your humanoids; I can relate because I came from a background with few anthros in practice, it's hard to change the habit of drawing faces and bodies a particular way. Your anatomy always is wonderful (one of the things I need to practice terribly..) I'll have to try and grab a commission slot someday with you since you would do my humanoid characters much more justice then myself. X3
rofl. you should have seen it before -- i did the hair, face, and body form in the thin pen, but since i struggle with clothes i usually end up doing them in a much thicker, lighter-density pen... which means i have to go back and drop the opacity on the layer and re-sketch it with the thin pen afterwards. you can actually kind of see it in the picture! haha. i really need to get a decent system down; as it is, i don't honestly think anyone would want the first round of sketch i usually turn out. i only went ahead and thin-lined this one because it was coming out so nicely!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I WENT OUT, SO I COULDN'T COMMENT UNTIL NOW. But I want everyone to know, for posterity, just how much this fucking excited me. You should have seen the email I sent when I was shown this, I seriously wigged the fuck out, LOL.
Seriously I can't stress how much I love this and you and just... hnn so perfect. <3 <3 <3 A thousand times, yes.
Also I'm impressed by the shading you put onto a sketch, especially on the neck. It's gorgeous! And looks so effortless!
