"Sir, this is the sweetest thing you could have done for me," she said, nearly on the verge of tears. "Thank you so much! How can I make it up to you?"
"Don't worry about it, Miss Arinel," Nate said, smiling. "It's the least I could do. But just do one thing for me."
"What's that, sir?"
"Don't call me sir. I'd rather just be called Nate."
They both shared a laugh. "Alright, Nate. I'll do that!"
They went into the mouse's house together. After Nate made a call to the police, he sat down to enjoy his pizza. Ever the gentleman, he offered his guest some of his food, to which she gladly accepted. Around fifteen minutes later, the police called back and said that they'd found the missing scooter. However, due to processing, they had to hold it for the night. They said they'd deliver it to the house first thing in the morning.
Nate told Arinel the good news, and she breathed a sigh of relief, followed by a yawn. The clock on the wall now read 10:30 PM. Nate figured Arinel must be exhausted through this whole ordeal. He offered her his bed, but she declined, saying that she only needed a little nap. He would leave his door open just in case she needed anything. He went into his bedroom, took off his shirt and laid down to sleep.
About two hours later, her heard something shuffle. He groggily opened his eyes to see what was happening.
