Watercolor is an intriguing medium. If you're trying to make it do something, you will get frustrated quickly. The trick to watercolor is to be totally open, and let the medium do its own thing. This is a great medium for just exploring color. But if you're aiming for a refined and photo-realistic look, you will need extensive knowledge of form and light.
