Just felt like practicing some various facial expressions, specifically the kinds I don't often need to draw normally. Quick doodles, tried not to erase unless the entire thing went wrong in which case I just erased the whole thing and started over. Messy, but perhaps good practice.
To be honest, I may be trying to improve artistically here but I really have no idea how to go about it. I'm really just artistically shotgunning and hoping something sticks, heh.
Some I like, some I don't, but I'm pretty sure my favorite of the bunch is the third row down, farthest on the right. Cute. x3
Last sketch for the night, promise! :P

Well, I've got a lot of issues and they bother me, so I feel pretty driven to get rid of them. If I didn't see serious flaws in my work so often I might not be quite as driven to improve, but as long as I have so many issues I'ma keep working at it as hard as I can. :P
Maybe this could help?

Expression parctice is generally a great thing. It's one element I have always believed was slightly lacking in your art.. but you have been improving and I am glad to see that you still feel the need to continue to improve =3 *da otter snugs da um.. wolfyfeline thing* Good job =3
(I hope you don't take this comment negatively, it was meant to be positive, yet people seem to believe that any critique is bad critique)

Well, I personally don't think it's so much that I can't do them, as most of what I do makes them unnecessary. x3 I've seen some artists who are capable of pretty fantastic ranges of expression, but when they put them in smut it just makes the whole thing look silly and literally ruins the picture for me.
That's not to say I don't need the practice, I certainly do, but there really are only so many applicable expressions in the type of stuff I do, I think. x3

Expression doesn't have to be outlandish though, Ru. It can be extraordinarily subtle when you learn how to do it just right, the kind of expression that is all in the eyes and strengthens the overall atmosphere of the composition. I have been told I am good at expressions and I still see a lot of room for improvement in my own work. So you know, it's all in the way you look at it =3 Besides.. sex isn't silly? *gryn*
Well, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about, though. I'm not saying I don't need some improvements, but I still feel that even with all the subtlety in the world, most of what I do is only going to use a few expressions, and a few variations therein.
And sure, maybe some people like having rediculous facial expressions on their smut, but I like to keep mine reasonable. x3

Well, as long as they're appropriate for the picture at hand. Like I said, I'm not saying I couldn't use a bit more variety or improvement, but for a lot of what I draw, using similar expressions is just the best way to go. I could start drawing all kinds of different expressions, but it wouldn't make sense in most of the situations I draw. x3
