Here is an art piece that I did of Starfox, with him wearing the clothing style used in the game "Starfox Adventures". Loved that game!
Decided to practice on some of the weaknesses that I have in drawing detailed objects in general, as well as the fur. This was done with an on and off total time of 5 days. Using a 0.7mm #2 mechanical pencil.

Wow. Are you kidding? That is the most greatest compliment I have ever received from any of the artwork I have submitted.
The truth is, I love seeing well thought-out comments like this. Because I really like to discuss things to keep bringing interesting conversations in a given field.

Thank you Six!
I hope this was worth the wait. This probably isn't much. But it was at least something I could provide to make you guys be aware that I am still alive.
My attempts to detail still has alot of weak spots that I still need to work on. There is still some methods that I may need to change in order to make this happen.

Not only have you captured Fox's look from th game in terms of his outfit and the staff, but also his general shape and design, and also, if I'm not mistaken, one of the poses. This looks like it could have been a concept sketch for the character that was given to the designers! Even the shadow looks good and dramatic.
Now you make me want to go back and play this game for a fifth or sixth time.

Wooow! THANK You Matthias!
I had to go through a lot of paper work in order to really nail his look as close as possible. In the beginning, I completely underestimated how hard it was going to be, just to pull this off.
His pose was of something that formed in my head. To the point of were I just had to try and accomplish it, to put it on paper.
As for the concept sketch compliment...is it really THAT good?! Wooow!
It's been years since I've played the game. Would surely like to play it again.

Well, your picture does seem that good to me. It comes very close to how he looked like in the game. And specifically that game too; his design was different in the other games, at least a little. This one will always be my favorite though.
How long did it take you to do this? If you went through a lot of paper it must have take longer than I thought.
And the game is a lot of fun, it's just shorter and shorter each time I play, which is always disappointing. I wish it were longer with ore to it each time!!
Ah well, that's not how things work.

I would also have to agree that this design of him is my favorite one too. Up until the release of "Starfox Adventures" for the Gamecube, I wasn't that much interested on what Starfox was even about. I saw the front cover of him with a not so 'spacey' look to him and brought it. He looked like a more developed, more dimensional character; he looked just...Fox. And it was because of this, what got me alittle interested into the Starfox franchise. But then that's when they dubbed him down and simplified his design again with the 'spacey' look in the future games Assault, and Commander, and it once again made me lose interest in the series.
It took me close to week to do, working on it on and off. Because of the fact that it was very hard to pull off his 'original' design. He had these little fixed 'bit' features of him when it came to his looks, different from any other fox design I've seen (Such as the eyes, eyebrows, and the ears). To the point that if you don't do those 'bits' correctly and miss them, it will immediately ruin the design from looking anything like him.
Yeah, so his look was a strange case to do.

I was actually working at Target at the time the game came out, and they were showing previews of it on one of the advertisement videos that are played in constant loop on the TVs that I spent most of my day around. That convinced me that the game was going to be a ton of fun, and so I made sure to pick it up as one of my first games for the Gamecube. I still have both and play them from time to time (currently on my third time through Zelda Twilight Princess).
Ironically, the game was not supposed to be a Starfox originally. The main character was going to be a cat fellow, and I guess they decided to make it a Star Fox game to turn it from a game nobody would have bought to one of their franchise games which lots of people would buy.
I played Assault and while I agree it is not as enjoyable as Adventures, and the design is not nearly as nice, I do like that you can have the multiplayer deathmatching which is a lot of fun with other furs! I never tried Commander, for pretty much the reasons you stated.
I can see what you mean about all those little details. If you don't have them, you lose who the character is. Really, I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to dumb him down again. Adventures is far and a way the highlight of that series.
