There are many who underestimate the power of calm, quiet solitude. My sanctum isn't a place of power as much as a place of secrecy. The only sounds to be heard here are the flickering of a candle's flame, the scratching of a quill and the ruffling of dusty feathers. Proper theurgy is a sort of spellcraft that demands focus and concentration. I believe it to be the highest form of magic given how little strain it places on the body and mind. It is a shame that so few prefer purity over power.

Oh, and I can assure you that the skull on the bookshelf is purely decorative and was donated for research purposes. The bird has taken such a liking to it that throws a fuss if I so much as attempt to dust it off.
