Yet another song a few of you might remember from AFPP, re-purposed for ferret use.
In an effort to squeeze all I can out of my human resources, I'm always looking for ways to expand the cast. Most directors have some acting experience, so I've written the cameo role of the American raccoon with the purpose of having the director step into it. As for the judge, a badger, I know I'm going to be my own pit orchestra for the foreseeable future, much as I am with Julie Bunny, and so I'll be doing that bit part.
I'm sure I'll need some tweaking from
sliceofdog soon, but this courtroom scene is intended to be absurd rather than realistic so I'm not yet too concerned with actual British courtroom procedure.
By the way, raccoons are actually becoming a nuisance in Britain. I don't know how I ever functioned without Google or Wikipedia.

Ah, brilliant to hear this one reappropriated to your new project! It works rather well, I think :)
Since you admit you're not after complete accuracy, there isn't much I can suggest here (nothing is so glaring that it can't be accepted as 'artistic license') so all I'll do is make a few completely optional references to sprinkle around the song and accompanying scene.
The first is a seemingly obvious place you could take this, especially for the benefit of a British audience if the need ever arose: Anti-American racism would probably be at its strongest against Grey Squirrels, who came over to Britain on boats and have since made our native Red Squirrel an endangered species. In your world's setting this seems like it could provide a clear parallel for anti-immigration ideals (and in fact may compliment your anti-ferretism idea). Perhaps your raccoon could cite a previous case where a Grey Squirrel was wrongly convicted because he was American, and later released? Perhaps the character who 'apprehends' him at the start, if not already given a species, could be a red squirrel? Something like that.
The other reference I've just found out is completely erroneous, so I won't suggest it (It seems even Brits can be wrong about what Brits do sometimes...) but you might find the following paragraph useful:
"The correct term of address for a judge depends on his appointment. A District Judge, who sits in the Magistrates' Court, can be referred to as Sir or Madam. A Circuit Judge, who sits in the County Court or Crown Court, is called Your Honour, and a High Court Judge or above would be addressed as My Lord or My Lady, but never "M'lud"."
Your badger judge there, if the crime is simple robbery, would be a District Judge, as the trial would take place at a Magistrates.
But yeah, that's all I can think of right now. Sounding great ^_^
