Wow! Am I behind the times. My favorite Mecha in the series was the old "Warhammer," AKA the "Tomahawk" from the old anime "Macross" which became the first of the classic TV trilogy. Of course I was more into building the models and painting up the mecha and gaming figures. I noticed in the original "Battledroids" game they borrowed heavily from Macross, Southern Cross, Legios, Dugram, and Crusher Joe. Those 1/72nd and 1/144 scale models I picked up for pennies are now worth hundreds to prime collectors now. I still like the Tomahawk though. (Okay. So I'm an Inner Sphere Groogie.)
Oh man! How I'd love to get another one of the Arri 1/72nd scale kits of the Marauder. I painted the one I built back in 1988 with an airbrushed "Desert Sand" top coat and a light gray underbelly. I added rust red and black "Tiger Stripes" to that, but kept the decals the same. To me the multicolored paint scheme of the original just seemed to say, "Hey! I'm a big target! Shoot me!" The resultant camouflage colors sort of made the model look more "Lethal." I never got to build the all Panzer gray version with white "Lozenge" designs on it's upper surfaces that I had drawn up. I was going to call that one the "Night Stalker."
