Typhon: the Greek personification of the Devil.
Some more character design work. I'm trying out some different painting and compositing techniques in this one. They bear much resemblance to other techniques, but here I tried to build up some tonal values then add the colour, instead of laying down flat colour, and shading on top of that.
I wasn't very successful before with this technique, but now it seems to work.. sort of.. I still don't like it much, but I'll keep trying.
Um, yeah, so here's something loosely inspired by The Suffering (for PC and XBox). It's a great game about the psychological torment of the main character. He struggles to discover the truth of his own past, and has to survive his own brutal conscience.
I felt in many cases, the enemy were (while gruesome) still quite linear. I've wondered for ages now what it would be like to be attacked by something that runs backwards at you. I would love to develop a whole line of characters that are peculiar and not run of the mill.
What do you guys think? I quite like it. The gritty shading seems to work nicely, but I can most certainly improve. Do you think the layout is alright? The effects? The background? How's the anatomy? I welcome all critiques ^^
