This was made by my aunt many years ago from the iridescent breast feathers and long tail feathers from the male pheasant that we hunt out in western Kansas (we eat them, trophy hunting is stupid).

Notice how the feathers on the right change from orange to purple. That is a color shift due to the light not a change in the actual feathers! They can range from orange to purple, blue, red, sapphire, and anything in between. Male pheasants are absolutely gorgeous.

I want one of these very badly but it's going to be a few years before I dedicate to cleaning the birds meticulously and keeping the feathers separate from the "rest".
