...something I have been doing a lot of recently. Lonliness can do that to you.
for a Goodfellow.
This took me the better part of a week to get it looking the way I wanted. Been trying to improve my lighting, and coloring.
I'm thinking about selling a few prints for this particular piece. It has a lot of small detail which is not evident in such a low resolution and would probably make it more intersting to view as a print. If I do this, I will only be producing a limited number of these prints, but I will be hand signing and matting each one. If youre interested send me a note so I can get an idea of how many I would like to produce; but keep a watch on my journal for full details.

Wow. That's a really beautiful piece with all the textures, the lighting on the wood, the mood it sets. Your technique for rendering fur texture in color has come a long way in a short amount of time. And stepping away from the use of hard outlines really works for this picture.
I hope you're not doing too much pondering, Fluke. Introspection is fine if done occasionally, but for me, having too much time to do it is NEVER a good thing. But I can sympathize with your situation. *snugs*
Beyond that, this picture is FANTASTIC. You can definitely include my name for a print.

This is absolutely gorgeous Fluke. There is so much emotion behind that face. Hell you have always been good at emotions tho. I don't believe I have seen a style quite like this from you tho, I know you said you were working on shading and coloring but it almost looks like a new technique. It is beautiful the way that the subject looks like traditional media but at the same time almost looks 3D. I half expect him to get up and walk out of the page. And of course the background is great...did you use a new program to make this or is all of these differences from lighting and shading? In any event if you are feeling even a little of the sadness that radiates from the subject in your work here I really hope that you start feeling better soon. =^.^=
Being alone is the pits hon, I knew that all too well after being dumped for no reason. In a way your lucky.
This picture is beutiful, but sad. Makes me think of things, but also makes me think of crying. A wonderful pic indeed. I pray you will find the cure to your lonelyness someday.

Very nice piece. Makes me think of the times I spent back in North Carolina just sitting on the pier watching the sunset. *Sighs a bit and daydreams* ...
But seriously, the detail is great, even for a low resolution piece, it's pretty shocking. And hey, if you're still up around the NoVA area, I'll be here for a few more weeks if you'd like to hang out with another fur.

BOTTOM OF THE LIST, WOOHOO
Fluke, you really have outdone yourself on this one because even with this low resolution version you can still see the wood and the fur off the back and it just makes it look all the more real. The water and the sunset looks great and the whole thing really does cause a stir of emotions. Awesome job, hope more friends come around or something to keep you from having this much time to work on something, especially to this magnitude. Hope the other half gets better...

You really bring out the emotion with this piece, Fluke. One gets a very clear feeling of the mood, and it touches deep.
The coloring is exceptional, and I realy love the light on water effect. You also did a wonderful job getting the textures of the scene down. I can tell it took a lot of work to get to the point, but the results are incredible.

.......Jeez Fluke...this is just....fuck
The attention to detail is just insane! Like Moon said, you've captured the emotion perfectly, as you always do!
The fur, the water, the deck; everything is just outstanding
I think this is something we can all relate to on one level or another
*hug*

How you went about coloring this is a mystery to me. Sure others can do the same but particuarlly I like yor style beter.
The end result is always a good one, and the characters always express such deep emotion. ( In these pics that is. such as http://www.furaffinity.net/view/631944/ before this. I love how you did the lighting. Though if I may, it would of been more realistic if the lighting on the chracter was warmer to match the sun set, even without it looks breath taking.
This will be my Desktop background. For sure.
Heh. Lovely art, and I'm sure, a very lovely person behind it. x3 Would of been a miricle if given the chance to find out for myself.

So Tycoon and I were talking, and was like "Dude, have you seen this Fluke picture on the docks?"
And I gotta say, I like your art already, but I'm impressed with this picture. :3 Great stuff, I love the colors, esspecially in the wood...the highlights in the shadows...etc.
Sum it up, great job. :3

*wraps his arms around him and holds him tightly, kissing his neck, purring at him and telling him he's loved deeply so he doesn't feel so lonely. resting the underside of the chin on his shoulder, watching the sunset with him, the cold breeze on the bare fur of our chests, tail curling around his, foot snuggling gently to his foot, so that in every part of his body and soul, he can feel someone is there, someone that will love him forever*
I haven't spoken to you in so long my good friend. . .your artwork has gotten more personal I see. . .seems to be a shift from your more public scenes. I really really like it, and would consider buying a wall size piece to cover the area above the couch. Your artwork is re-invigorating to see again, and I hope there is more to come.
I cant believe I have yet to comment on this piece. I saw it a while back and guess I must have just had to rush out before I could leave you a kind word or two.
This piece kinda hits home right now for me. Ive been lonely now for over a year, and now two people have come into my life whom love me dearly and, though I feel loved and a bit happier, the fact that I have to choose and hurt one of them is slowly tearing me apart.
I do go out to the docks occasionally when I go back to the town I grew up in, and sit on a rock by the lake, wishing I could have either both or neither, or the courage to make the choice that will possibly affect my life.
Your picture is beautiful, and if you ever get around to selling more prints, or have one you will still sell, get in touch with me and I will purchase it.

Wow. Just... wow. The moment I saw this I saw it as if it were me sitting on that dock, thinking about how life is with all its mysteries and problems that we have to deal with. I can very much relate this masterpiece to my own life. Bravo to you, fellow person.
As for the artistic side, I love how you used the cool colors to a great extent (sp?) and how the horizontal lines help add to the serenity of this art.

Well, I saw this thumbnail, and all I thought was Deja vu, a few summers back on a cabin trip with the Family, I think I was on the exact same dock looking out over the lake, completely alone for maybe... an hour, which is surprising to me still, being I was with my Family, I wish I had a Camera to capture the sunset... but I had one or two revelations that night, so it was all good.
Love interest of about 2 years recently broke up with me :/ I look at this pic every day and the emotion in this picture cannot even begin to be described but at the same time it gives me a sense of comfort. Thanks for making the most amazing picture ever.
Looking forward to meeting you someday, on a lighter note :D

Wow... that's all I can say... this piece reminds me of the lake behind my house so much it's like you drew a portrait of my home, and with the setting sun, the way your character sits staring into the distance, and the perfect angle this piece is true artwork... It makes me think of myself when I'm feeling down...
