i hate drawing cars. i also hate driving them, and think they're terrifying. but beetles...i've always had a soft spot for. maybe because i had toy beetles to play with as a child. maybe because i understood the concept of a Peoples' Car was pretty smart at age 12. maybe it was the fact that both of my parents owned them before i was born, and some sort of pro-beetle virus leeched into their DNA. i may never know.
but one of the makes of beetle was called the Super Beetle. i think the only major difference was it had AC. but the idea of a Super Beetle is just
adorable
so here it is.

Actually, the Super Beetle did have a few more differences from the classic Beetle. Namely, they were either 10 or 18 inches longer to accommodate the bigger front trunk, the suspension was changed for better on-road handling, and in the later 1303 models the windshield was curved. Some Volkswagen fans despise the super beetle, claiming it was a horrible manifestation of the original formula, but I disagree fully on that, and think it was just like any other bug. In fact, the only "negative" is that they can't be turned into a Baja Beetle.
Yuh, love the late model Mexican bugs. <3
Bugs aren't that expensive for a later model that runs. With fairly standard wheels and a faded paint job a Beetle should only run you a couple thousand, which is relatively cheap for a classic car. Wouldn't suggest it if you like the more cushy things in cars though, a stock Beetle is 100% economy car. They squeak, they bounce, the seats are made of woven horsehair covered in a tattered houndstooth leatherette material... But then you see the brighter side of the Beetle. It has far more personality than any car before it, or after it, plus they're REALLY easy to work on. Most problems can be fixed with just basic tools, and they run forever. As said earlier, the Super Beetle will be a little better if you do all your driving on the road, and might cost a little less too, but don't take it to any shows because the snobby vintage purists will just turn their collective noses up at you.D:

Hehe, yeah! I had a '74 Karmann Ghia like that, and the funniest part is that it was even orange. I should have painted leopard spots on it and named it Fred. Wish I woulda' kept it though, Karmanns are quite rare, and they look like a million bucks, plus they have that classic VW reliability. My '68 has some rust holes, but nothing that can't be fixed, just a bit on the doors, a big hole under the rear window (Sucks when it rains! and some on the trunklid. XD
