Very nice! What genre of books does shi like to read?

Mostly science fiction and fantasy, being a Warhamer 40k nut means I have plenty of titles from the Black Library

Mmmmmm, science-fiction and Fantasy. I'm not much into the Warhammer franchise, I prefer Star Wars, Star Trek, Anne MaCaffrey's "Chronicles of Pern" series and the Dragonlance fantasy series. As well as the Mass Effect novels, Halo novels and the Warcraft/World of Warcraft novels.

I have read a good bit of Dragonlance stuff, mostly dwarf centric there, I was completely hooked on the Eberon universe, but that seems to have petered out. Right now I am sadly in between book stores, though, since the nearby Borders closed. Side note: have you ever read any of the Borderlands books by Lorna Freeman?

Yeah, I know about the Borders Bookstore closures in the US, all of the 25 Borders stores in Australia closed this year too, the last closed its doors permenantly on July 17th here.

No, I've not heard of Borderlands series, but I'll take a look to see if any of them are in bookstores here next time I'm in Brisbane.

Sadly the next closest bookstore for me is a Barnes & Noble an additional 15 minute or so out of my way XD And the titles you would be looking for are "Covenants" "The Kings own" and "Shadows Past" in that order. Liked em quite a bit myself, and still waiting on the author to finish the fourth installment

If you like military SF (an assumption on my part, from W40K), might I suggest the Ringo & Weber series that begins with the book "March Upcountry"? Short version: A plot against the royal family is underway and assassins have been dispatched to eliminate them. The series follows the third son -- a bit of a fop who no one ever expected to lead -- and the marine regiment accompanying him as they're forced to crash onto a primitive world and have to survive to reach the lone spaceport on the far side of the planet.
