The batch of sketches from which the design of the Reznik was chosen.
These didn't make the cut for the ship in question, BUT I like them all very much, so they might find use elsewhere.
The design parameters are all Verian, but I'll have to figure out what sort of role they'll play in what scenario.
Just figured you guys might want to take a look at how I do things.

I really like the designs which are like number two and three on the top row. The middle one would make a great "Drop Ship" design for "The City of Baraboo" from Circus World. Of course Number three would still look pretty frightening coming out of the clouds no matter how colorfully painted it was. Great concept sketches, and well mechanically thought out too.
Oh. "Circus World" was a series of "Potboiler" science fiction stories written by Hal Clement, (I think.) that revolved around an interstellar traveling Circus and the performer's finding a world to settle on and establish a new society. The stories really didn't make much of n impression on me, but I liked how the author incorporated the lore and traditions of the traveling Circuses from the early to mid 20th Century into his writings.
I must confess that being a "Science Fiction Model Builder," I'm always on the look out for new and interesting ideas, so I hope you don't mind my enjoying your concept sketches. You've come up with some pretty impressive designs. I mentally add the dents, scratches, rust stains and paint schemes. That's all.

Well... the bigger pictures usually consist of already existing designs. Designs that are specific for one picture are either just done by trial and error on the picture in question, or they are sketched and evaluated separtely.
Can't really say I have a favorite or a least favorite. All of them can turn out to be a real pleasure or a true pain, though I suppose I don't do ship designs very often, because I can't get into the level of detail I want in the sizes I sketch at X3 On the other hand, I love doing them either way and here I had an opportunity to let my mind create something different than a warship for once, which is a welcome distraction, as much as I love designing the intimidating stuff X3
