Interesting blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and furry. :P
Oh, and before anyone goes on that the Siberian huskies don't have curled tails:
Siberian Husky Breed Standard:
"Tail - A well furred brush carried up and in a sickle curve when gaiting or at attention, or trailing out behind when gaiting or working, and down when standing relaxed. The tail is situated on or just below the level of the top line. When carried up, the tail does not curl to either side of the body nor does it snap flat along the back. The tail-bone reaches the top of the hock when let down."
Huskies don't have curled tails. Unless they're poorly bred or have something else (like Alaskan Malamute) in their background, aka, aren't purebred. And the dogs (both anthro and non-anthro) in this commission are supposed to be purebreds. :)

Even the Malamute doesn't really have a curled tail, as such -- arched over the back when the dog is underway, but our Mischa's tail hangs down quite naturally when he's just mooching around the house.
Anyway, a lovely piece. *wag* Rather reminds me of the book I'm reading: The Children of the Sky, by Vernor Vinge. Good reads.

My first reaction:
That's a really big computer monitor, and someone must have kicked it really hard for it go sub-orbital and reenter like that.
I tend to notice the background more on pictures like this. For example; interesting place to put skyscrapers. And is he being signalled from the other mountain?

Agree'd... and thanks for noticing Anticarrot. It's the little details that tell the story, which is why i commissioned JaxxBlackFox for this piece. Matching the right artist with the concept is very important and i'm so happy with the work Jaxx did for me!
For those that might not have noticed the little bits... Debris from a battle in space is falling while the Guardians prepare to protect their world from an inevitable invasion. The buildings in the valley are the ruins of an ancient city that's been reclaimed by the forest. The smoke is from fires caused by the falling space debris. A Guardian (me) is signalling his report to other Guardians and receiving their reports in turn. At my side are my companions who are in their non-anthro form.
