Wapiti Lake loop, Grand Canyon area, Yellowstone National Park
Actually just a week or so after a hiker was mauled by a bear, my friends and I were hiking the same trail just a few miles away from where it happened. We were walking along a lake shore when I found wolf tracks, fairly fresh if I was not mistaken. "How can you tell it's a wolf?" my friend asked me, well simply the size. Coyotes are pretty small, an average adult wolf weighs over 100lbs and their paws are just about the size of your hand.
