i do believe that they're refrigerator plugs. though why there's two, i don't know
or they could be for washer/dryer. i forget which ^.^

Different outlets are Different Trolol.

Nah fo' real: its just another plug in outlet, usually for washing machines, sometimes microwaves. even stoves and ovens have them.

Its a really really old house, but the switches are on the complete opposite side of the kitchen from the fridge/ oven- everything!

washer and dryer plugs, also the switches are ment for emergency shut offs.

It's a standard Australian electrical socket with safety switches. Also used in Argentina and New Zealand if I remember right.
