Love the expression, the posing is really good as well. As I said before, it looks like your next focus could be shading techniques/light & color theory and anatomy (mainly your arms/hands)

Ive been focussing a bit too much on the head so now ive got them down i can definitely start on the hands - which have never been a strong point of mine. Shading is an issue which ive never been able to get down.

Practise, practise practise. :D couldnt have done it without your help tho. :3

A lot of my shading techniques came from trial and error, as well as a bit of observation (watch some artists streaming, you can pick up on it pretty easily if you're a visual learner). My understanding of light theory came from a lot of study, mainly of other artist's submissions. If you do as much observation as I do, you get pretty good ideas on how it works =P

Its definitely all about seeing the thing you want drawn in detail in your head. Ive been doodling all my life but its always been cartoony stuff - so the more realistic stuff i want to be getting into suffered for it.

Yes, visual art is more or less representing your thoughts on canvas. But anyway, there are plenty of good artists to look at if you're learning how to do more realistic things.  Kaji  DarkNatasha  Blotch and  Fluke are all great artists to look into.

Of course Fluke! And Blotch. As a matter of fact those two got me into the fandom. :P

I think that Blotch was probably one of Fluke's influences, actually. The similarities in style are pretty apparent =3

But yes, great artists to observe.

Yknow i never thought of that actually. I'll be noticing it a lot more now youve mentioned it.

I shall do some observation of their art. I work best when i can see things and how theyre done. :3
