By the way, not to get off-topic or anything (and I can't remember if I've asked about this before, to be honest), but what exactly is "Steam"? Every now and then, I see journals where the authors describe how they're going to purchase so-and-so game from Steam and play it on PC/MAC. I'm hearing about it much more often currently, now that games like Skyrim (the new entry in the Elder Scroll series) and Portal 2 have been released. From what I've gathered, is it basically a digital distribution service where you can purchase and download games to play on PC/MAC (in other words, a PC/MAC version of XBOX Live or PSN), or is there much more to it than that? I apologize in advance if I've made any wrong assumptions.
