This is an argument i've had with so many people. They don't seem to understand the difference between Marxist Socialism leading to a Communist state and how it differs from the hard line Fascism that's become the face of Socialist though. It really does make me sad when really what Comunism boils down to is equality regardless of ethnicity or sex and would use a democratic system. Not so different then the values in most western socities.

Communism in a perfect world is about equality. Implemented by someone who truly believes in the greater good and has no selfish tyrannical ideals in mind, everyone would be happy. Everyone who isn't greedy. And it's not like we'd all be EQUALLY poor and miserable, but rather everyone would have all of the modern comforts.

Communism in and of itself is nothing more than an idea. A noble idea. An idea that would not work, if only because of human greed, but a noble one. :/

Exactly. That's why i call it a system of ideals. It's not something that I beleive we're able to reach with the current mindset that people have.
