Confutatis from Requiem, K626, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
2 minutes 24 seconds
Mozart's Requiem (Mass for the Dead) was the last piece this great composer composed in his short and prolific lifetime. It was left unfinished at his death and at the urging of his wife, was completed by a colleague and friend, Franz Xaver Süssmayr. If you have seen the movie Amadeus, this is the piece that Mozart is dictating to Salieri while on his death bed. However, the horn parts that Mozart dictates in the movie to Salieri are clearly indicated on the sheet music to have not been written by him, but by Süssmayr. Amadeus is a great movie, but strays from the historical truth to tell its story, and in fact uses legends that have swirled around the Requiem for centuries.
This piece is dedicated to all the furries on FurAffinity.net who were confounded and could not find the site for days over this past weekend, thereby being doomed to flames of woe with much wailing and gnashing of teeth and clenching of paws 'n' claws.
Realized on Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, effects boxes, and Tascam Porta-1 4-track tape recorder. Best listened to with headphones.

lyrics
Confutatis maledictis,
When the wicked are confounded,
flammis acribus addictis
doomed to flames of woe unbounded,
Voca, voca me cum benedictis.
call me with Thy Saints surrounded.
Confutatis maledictis,
flammis acribus addictis
Voca, voca me cum benedictis.
Oro supplex et acclinis,
Low I kneel, with heart submission!
cor contritum quasi cinis.
See, like ashes my contrition!
Gere curam, gere curam mei finis!
Help me in my last condition!
