The sun had started to go down when Topaz had followed Scott down to the park. The air was cool and refreshing, and just the slightest bit cold. Neither of them had worn a jacket, though the last rays of the sun kept either from shivering. "It's nice out here," she said.

"I love the park at this time of night." Scott led the way down the path as they happened upon a park bench. "Care to have a seat?"

Topaz sat on the wooden bench and felt a chill travel up her spine. "It's getting colder."

"I should've brought my jacket for you," he lamented.

"No, it's all right, I can handle it." Topaz blushed a little as he joined her and reached his arm around her shoulder. "It's getting late, we should head home before your dad wonders where we are."

Scott looked at his watch and shook his head. "We have a half hour before I told him we'd be back."

"What are we going to do for thirty minutes?"

"I could think of something..." He leaned forward, and suddenly she was in a kiss.

Topaz at first moved her hand to his chest to stop him, but as he placed his hands on either side of her head her surprise wore off. She closed her eyes and pressed into the kiss, feeling her heart racing as she realized that this was her very first kiss with a boy...
