I just heard last night that Anne McCaffrey, the author of the Dragonriders of Pern novels, passed away. I was never a really big fan of the series, but I did read the original trilogy, as well as the Dragon Harper trilogy. And I have participated in a handful of Pern clubs and roleplay sites over the years. McCaffrey invented a wonderous world, one that can never be equalled. I think it was only fit to give her one last salute.
