Another BIG commission for my dear friend
, this was sort of meant to be complimentary to the Lunar Magic piece we did a while back. The full size is 10"x28", way bigger than my scanner, so I had some difficulty getting it pieced together and you can still see lines. I'm sorry guys, I just couldn't get it to line up correctly X.X It looks much smoother (as does the color) in person, take my word for it.
Kayin and Ariyah are still somewhat of a mystery to me as characters go, but from what I understand in terms of this scene, the rising sun is causing Ariyah to fade away, and Kayin, though he tries to reach her before she disappears completely, is just not quite fast enough. I had several challenges posed to me for this one, including the fading/transparency affect and the lens flare effect from the sun. Not sure if I hit my mark entirely but I suppose with practice, I'll get better at these sorts of things.

Aw, that's really sad. Even without knowing much about the characters, I think the sense of loss and desperation really shows through, and it's really kind of heartbreaking. More so with the ruined pillars all around them. I don't want to speculate about someone else's characters, but they add a feeling of great age to the landscape, as of a civilization that has been and gone. In any case, it's really beautifully done.
This is really nice and I love how you did the fade on her. I would suggest for the sun tring to make the edge kind of a soft edge instead of a hard edge if youre really worried about it. but it looks really good as it is. Think you worry too much momma wolf. love you and miss you
I am so very in love with this piece. Since Lunar Magic I have been thinking of ways to continue this theme, this magic that you have with your art and bring out yet more of it. And you have done so here, yet again. I am blown away by the emotion, the sheer raw power that is captured here by your limitless talent. Really and truly, I love this. Thank you again, for all of your energy, emotion and care in this stunning piece.
Thank YOU for inspiring me as you do. <3 Every piece you commission from me challenges me to do something new, something I'm not used to. Sometimes it frustrates me to no end, but I push because I know that somewhere deep within, that ability is there. And it seems like the end result is always well worth all the work.
