Once again I am lucky enough to have a stunning piece of work by
Luthien_nightwolf. Time and again pressed and pushed to new limits, Luthien has brought together another wonderful and stunning piece depicting Kayin and Ariyah being torn from one another. And she has depicted it with such power and emotion that it is easily one of my favorite pieces she has created.
luthien_nightwolf has a stunning talent in depicting emotion, and does so here in a way that is rarely found. There is such rich power and emotion here that it makes me stop and contemplate for a long while.
This was ostensibly a follow up piece, a sister to Lunar Magic, but I think while it mirrors it similiarly in form and layout it is a very different piece, which a different feeling to it all its own. It stands as its own piece and with Lunar Magic equally well; as they compliment each other exceptionally well.
There is a deep sadness in this piece, something that I was seeking Luthien to depict and she reached somewhere deep and pulled this out. Found something truly beautiful even with the abundant sadness and produce a master work. So once again, I count myself blessed to have such a good friend as Luthien, who can find and depict such emotion.
I was told that this piece works especially well with Suteki da ne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlwSPMwAqbM
I will write a little story piece for this soon! It will go here! Just have to find the words that live up to Luthien's drawings.
Time and again Ariyah and Kayin find themselves at the mercy or rather the threat of powers greater than themselves, tearing at them and often separating them for who knows how long, across impossible distances. The damage is always great, but heals through time; no matter the adversity. In this moment, Kayin reaches out for Ariyah, having just struggled through some great adversity to reach her, only to have her fade away into nothing but a memory before his eyes as the sun rises, washing away the night. Somehow, he knew it was going happen thusly, but he fought against it all the same. Stuck in the same seemingly hopeless battle, time and time again; often fighting the consequences of his own actions.
They are very circuitous characters at times, and I think that this personification through action, often highlights their triumphs best. Victories, even small ones, are all the greater when found through great tribulations.
This is one of those moments, that last moment before it all comes crashing down, and the cycle begins anew all over again. And through the grief and heart ache, he will begin his search anew. He doesn't know how to give up.
All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.
