Yeah so I don't necessarily stick to the same them when I cook one meal xD, but this is one of my two favorite things to eat together so whatever. Anyway Iv got a instructions for making both! just thought I should mention before that this Chili does use a small amount of Vermouth.
t=teaspoon T=tablespoon C=cup
Chili
1lb pork sausage
1lb italian sausage
1lb ground sirloin
1larg onion diced
1/2-1t ground black pepper
12oz tomato paste
1T fresh garlic minced
1-4T ground cumin
2-4T chili powder
1T dijon mustard
1T dried basil
1/2T dried oregano
2 28oz cans diced tomatoes
1/4C white vermouth
juice from 1 lemon
1T dill
1T parsley or cilantro
1 can rinsed dark red kidney beans
1 can rinsed garbanzo beans
1 can rinsed black beans
1 can small pitted and drained black olives (i like the sliced olives)
directions... throw it all in a pot and let it cook xD
My Irish soda bread:
1/2C white sugar
4C flour (this is what I start with, I usually use about 5-6 xD)
2t baking powder
1t baking soda
3/4t salt
2 eggs beaten
11/4C buttermilk
1C sour cream
you will also need basil and 1 egg white
directions:
heat oven to 350f and grease a medium baking sheet.
in medium bowl mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
in small bowl mix eggs, buttermilk, and sour cream
stir liquid mix in with flower mix completely. This is where i start adding more flour, your dough needs to be loose but also not runny, (lack of a better term) the dough WILL be sticky.
put the dough on your greased pan, make a round blob basically xD.
cut slits at the top, I usually do 3 (as if your cutting a pizza) but you can do whatever you like.
brush the top with egg white so it gets kinda golden instead of brown, then I like to sprinkle basil over the top and then i pat with flour.
bake for 60-65 minutes. I usually poke it with a wooden chopstick when its done, if it comes out clean then its done. :p
finally get a bowl of your chilli and spread some Amish made roll butter on your bread and enjoy xD
