Is this possible for solo piano? If it is...I may ask you if I can play this at my recital next semester o.o In fact I would LOVE to be able to learn this just for the hell of it. It's awesome!

Well, no, not exactly. I wrote the piece and had no idea what to call it, so I looked through various classical forms until I found one that fit what I wrote. Sort of backwards I guess... But the name is silly anyway =P

i find it interesting that you do that; write in various classical forms i mean. i just write music and call it piano music or classical music, depending on the instrumentation xD

Having a form in your piece helps to structure it. Before writing anything in any sort of form, my longest piece was about 3 minutes. Once I studied form though, it gives a guide for coming up with new material that makes sense in the context of the piece, and it shows the value of well placed repetition. I went from my longest piece being 3 minutes to 20 minutes with my first sonata, having studied sonata form, fugal form, and rondo form for each of the movements, and it improves the overall quality of my music too.

i can see how a 20 minute sonata is plausible, i looked into forms when i had finished my work in my computers class...sonata form seems like lots of parts...introduction, exposition, development, recapitulation, and optional coda, and of course the exposition could be repeated and has four parts within itself and man D: after reading it i want to make one but after thinking about it....you really need an AWESOME idea to make a good one. it really sounded intense...xD

Well, that's why I've only made 4 of them, and that form only covers the first movement (most of the time). But they are awesome :3

still 4 is roughly an hour or so of entertainment. I'd like to hear these sonata's sometime.
