I think it's silly that there's a classical music form called a Fantasy. Oh well, I wrote one. Basically I found this lying around in my scraps, and I decided to finish it. I think it might have originally been designed to be a movement for my sonata no. 4. Anyway, it's pretty neat, though personally I only find it average among my works. Hope you enjoy it anyway :3

Having a form in your piece helps to structure it. Before writing anything in any sort of form, my longest piece was about 3 minutes. Once I studied form though, it gives a guide for coming up with new material that makes sense in the context of the piece, and it shows the value of well placed repetition. I went from my longest piece being 3 minutes to 20 minutes with my first sonata, having studied sonata form, fugal form, and rondo form for each of the movements, and it improves the overall quality of my music too.
i can see how a 20 minute sonata is plausible, i looked into forms when i had finished my work in my computers class...sonata form seems like lots of parts...introduction, exposition, development, recapitulation, and optional coda, and of course the exposition could be repeated and has four parts within itself and man D: after reading it i want to make one but after thinking about it....you really need an AWESOME idea to make a good one. it really sounded intense...xD
You know they're all in my gallery, and also my piano album =P
