Thank you dear! It means a lot to me that you think so. My lines are what they are and I don't have much control over them, but I'm trying to get better at colouring digitally. =)

You don't see that yourself, but your lineart does evolve, like it does for every artist. And seeing how wonderful you are already, I don't know where all that will lead you...
Anyway, your evolution in colouring is indeed very, very visible !!!

Nice pic. I've always like Dragons, but sort of as a mixed topic. I don't really like anthro dragons (though I'm not really into reptiles in general), but as a more classical fantasy creature, I think they're great. They represent a powerful elemental force, and can be a great ally or a deadly threat.

I agree. Dragons can be very magnificent. Whereas anthro dragons are alright and cute even, the great leviathans are the real thing. I think I drew Deacon here as a sort of a blend between the two, not quite anthro and not quite feral either.

Oh no, that's Deacon, Xianos' mate. The picture is a commission for Xianos. =)

But this dragon seems really to Ripkin:black color skin with clear hairs and the same bad eyes. ^_^

Well, that might be... Though Ripkin doesn't have lilac hair. And he doesn't like caves much. =)

I think I'm obsessed with highlights... Even though I don't really know how light and shadow are supposed to look like in these kind of conditions I draw. ^^;;

Very nice! I like the little glimpses of light shining in from the top, and the texture of the fur underneath the two subjects is very convincing.

The less important background elements are drawn with softer tones. You're still using the concept of the focal point well.

The only time I tried light beams, I wasn't very happy with them. You have a done a fanastic job on them and the lighting in general. I like the reflected green from the young dragon on daddy. :)

Daddy's expression is great too, all snarly and 'don't you come near'.

I like the intimate sense you get from the darker areas as well. It kind of borders it, making it a bit like a peephole.

Light beams are easy to do digitally, you just choose the area you want to make lighter with the lasso tool and set the feather option to 10% or so. Here I used Painter to make those extra strokes. The artist's oils brushes are great for fooling around.

As for traditionally drawing light beams, I have no idea. I was never very good with traditional media. ^^;;
