Okay, so this is "Moon Blind." He's a chronic loner who lives on the edge of the everfree forest. He belongs to something called the Moon Blind or Night clan. They have a genetic predisposition for uveitis, or moonblindness. They live among normal ponies up to a certain age, when they are taken away to their clan and trained. They take up shadier jobs that other ponies wouldn't normally like- workers of night, darkness, or the disgusting. They become things like jailors, morticians, night guards, forest watch, hunters...

Galaksey became a night guard. He walks the borders of Ponyville and watches for danger... diamond dogs, cockatrices, wolves and other such dangers that might try to make easy prey of sleeping ponies. He's a bit on the large side, and a well trained fighter though he might not have conventional schooling (he knows how to read, write, do general math, sew, and fight... and then probably little odds and ends of information to make himself self-reliable).

When you take on that job, you normally take it having known someone of your home town, having loved someone, so when you protect your home, you protect them.

This did not happen for Galaksey... his case of moon blindness struck very early, before he made any friends. He never really knew that. Every morning, he sees the sun rise over Ponyville, and the life he never had.

I'd talk more about him, but it's 2 AM and I'm probably not making much sense...
