Don't worry about it, life comes first and I know that you have been very busy. The important thing is that you didn't forget about the commission even with everything going on over there.
Speaking of which I love how the picture turned out! The positioning and expressions are perfect and the characters themselves look great and are very well proportioned. Sorry that they didn't have very interesting colour schemes but thank you for the shading and the wonderful scale effect on the green mamba. Seriously, how long did that take you? Is that just an effect that you can use or did you do that all by hand?

I hate to say I cheated some. I used some snake skin I found online and modified the base skin image.
The most detail I've ever put into skin was that realistic gator drawing I did a while ago, and even the skin on it wasn't very detailed.
I've seen some artist who detail every little scale in one by one, and it's absolutely beautiful. I just can't do it and make it look equally as good. I've studied them and everything but I just don't know how they do it :I
I know your snake didn't have much for coloration, but sometimes plain markings are just as nice. It let's you focus more on the details inside the animal. See I couldn't add that kinda detail to my character without it looking a mess. Plus I kinda like coloring snakes. Such smoothness. I just wish I had the artistic capacity to detail the scales better.
