This is a recent project I started just for giggles. Its the Arwing from StarFox Adventures. I liked the design of this Arwing because it actualy looked like it could be flown. it seemed practical and had more form than a lawn dart like the other versions of the Arwing seemed to have...
this goes with all my other starfox works. I dont know if they will ever actualy be in the same render but what ever. enjoi

I tried molding one in X-plane (http://www.x-plane.com/ Best serious Flight simulator that's not priced for airliners xD), guess what, they fly like stones xD, with out at least a canard, the center of gravity is just all wrong .. none the less it was a fun project, love those craft <3.
well sorry for the massive delay in commenting on this but I'll get to the point
most jet fighter/interceptors do fly like stones. they have the glide ratio of a brick they only really maneuver once there is enough thrust and after that the aerodynamics come from how strong the air frame is since the craft doesn't actually glide it has to use the force of air to "ram" its way into maneuvers.
in turbo jets the theory is more to place resistance into a current of air to disrupt it in a certain direction, glide principals apply although they compound structural limitations, such as if this was a real air craft assuming it could make it up to speed the swept wing design might very well snap off and it would become a lawn dart like predecessor designs... hehe
as far as the center of gravity, i have to agree but that's more on an ascetics stand point. the B-2 is a flying wing with its engines on the wings them selves. i don't think there is an aircraft around other than in design that has a nose and as such what practical purpose does it serve? the extra surface area probably would house electronics and equipment [starfox adventures did have tricky riding as carry on...]
the arwing is a much smaller air frame than the B2 so I wonder how it would really fly. it would be possible to assume that it steers similar to a vectored thrust vehicle like the F-22 in that the control surfaces are in the aft of the craft but I'd see that as a very quick way of sending the plane ass over tea kettle on basic maneuvers.
meh, there i go throwing logic into a perfectly good fictional creation lol...
I love the arwing too, I'd really like to see someone work it out or maybe re design it so it would fly.
