A quick doodle of young Cook and his badass old military grandfather.

Instead of doing the myriad of things that I need to finish, I puttered around the internet thinking about what breed of dog Cook should be. Finally settled on a mix.

His father is a Xiasi from out in the rural countryside. His mother is a ferocious Kunming/Chow cross. Cook was raised under the strict discipline of his grandfather's household. "Prep school escapee" only begins to describe it.

Notes on Conformation:
A kunming military dog is basically a short bodied GSD without the sloping back and with small feet. I imagine mixing it with a chow would result in an aggressive dominant dog with short thick fluffy fur, square body, high midsized ears, and tapered muzzle.

The Xiasi dog has a short muzzle and heavy head, but a longer body and straight tail. The personality is a lot more relaxed and the ears are set wide.

Thus, Cook has a short rounded snout (like a husky mouth), a rounder face and heavy head, but also a short body. I imagine him retaining his grandfather's graceful limbs, grandmother's fluffy tail, but the stronger build.

As for colors, probably shaded fawn with the black saddleback and the black face.
