So this was an odd one, i've never been asked to do a 'Recolor' before. It was an interesting experience. I was pretty much asked to use the same lines for both, and just tweak the image around to be another character for the same person. Of coarse the recolor was only a fraction of the cost of another full icon, considering I only had to make some moderate tweaks.

As for recoloring it's pretty much just tweaking different things.. It's hard to tell you exactly, but it has a lot to do with color overlays, variations in the base color, and drawing over what already exists. It really depends on what needs to be done as to how exactly it is edited.
