It seems we have a new late baby. She is a Tenn. Walker with just a touch of Morgan in her. No name yet but Summer would be fitting. Last summer her dam helped our stallion who is now a gelding have one last romp. She sat on his fence and broke it so he could get loose to be with her and apparently as always he was quite successful. I saw her bagged up and she was acting very clingy to me yesterday which is unlike her so I figured she was going to have a baby. I was right. The baby is healthy and nursing.

usually in the evenings my mare and baby stay in the yard outside my house. They feel more comfortable and I do as well having them right there. I would try to go lay in my hammock but the baby would almost try to climb in with me so I usually spend most of my time sitting there scratching while getting chewed on and mamma is "Ohh god thank you... now I can go over here and eat in peace"
She already is a lap horse but is getting too big and my back too weak to hold or carry her any more. While she has gone beyond her mother in the ablity to figure out locks, chains, gates and latches which means she will most likely be unstopable soon enough... she hasnt like her mother figured out stairs and ventured into the house yet. I suspect if and when she does I will find her sprawled on the couch, chair or bed. I think mama will be mad next winter when she finds I have done away with the big space heater that she used to warm herself in front of
