i use lighter armour with a onehanded weapon and a spell

and I am a fox/elf that uses light armor and a pair of deadric daggers.

light armor is nice, and all, but there's a perk that negates all movement, and weight affects. which I just got. so now, I move as fast as you, and I have as much, or more carryweight...but my defense is probably twice as good. or it will be, depending on what your current armor is. mine is ebony...atm

half the time I wear the Ebony Mail, ebony boots, Deadric helm, deadric gloves.

is that...iron armor? you should upgrade that...I just finished forging myself a complete set of Ebony. and then made it epic class.

goddamn must have spent 5k just buying the ebony ingots.

ebony ingots are a purchasable item from blacksmiths, each ingot is several hundred gold though.

you MAY need to have higher armory skill to see them...

if you want to upgrade armory skill quickly, use leather to make leather bracers.
I usually use HALF my leather to make them, then the other half to improve them.
then sell em.

that way they're sold individually, and that improves your speech skill more effectively.

I heard they fixed that.. it's based on the value of the sale not each individual sale.

I been dagger grinding smiffin.. I am at 98

dagger is more costly to forge...unless you found the iron...but i figure...leather is cheeper than iron, and leather is EASY to find in the wild [hint anything with a hide] so spamming leather bracers is what I do.

Iron is pretty damn cheap, I dunno. I think crafting is another thing where item value matters? When I made the full set of dwarven I got like.. 2 levels.. when it woulda taken like 15 daggers.

heh, dwarven crap is easy...scamper off to a dwarven ruins, come back hauling dwarven junk, make a ton of ingots, forge sell repeat.

I think there's like four or five ruins in the game?
I know of two sources...one's right in markarth, the other is a little west of winterhold.

try investing in a shop.... that seams to get them better stuff.....

that and on the east side of the map SE of windhelm there is a orc village in the mountains that if kill them all or win there trust you can use there ebony mine loaded with ebony

Dedra hearts you can get four at the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, east of Morthal (every 7 days)

one reliably in the companions buncker (steal it, might have to carry it into the other room first though)

and two you can buy from a guy at the mage collage (every 2 days)

shrine is nice

worth the visit as it has bars of gold and bars of ebony inside that also re spawn every week

here is that mine.... you can get like 16 ore and steal 4 ignots, and buy some of the blacksmith outside

best place to get ebony and you only have to kill a buch of orcs or do there quest to get to it

also I have never found an ebony ingot at the whiterun blacksmiff.. I did find a couple at Belthors (the general store)

huh! wierd....well, usually you can look at greymane, he might have them, but I've gotten most of mine from the warmaiden and the blacksmith girl...
but dude...theres like six holds...markarth is a good one too.
but white run is best, cause it's RIGHT next to the main gate, and the smelter is right next to the forge and has all the peripherals....

YAh know I was thinking of doing that myself x3 but I ended up going conjuring assassin. Make magical weapons and stealth kill everything. Then when I'm spotted summon my own army and sit back to watch the mayhem.

I run a mage-tank: heavy armor and dual-cast/two-handed weapons.

Orc, mace and shield, heavy armour. Master of enchanting blacksmith and conjuration, I have a permanent ice golem companion. Who I can summon again if he dies, I called him mr frosty.

That's probably about what I'd do if I played, since Bethesda RPGs never seem to let my normal tactic of "shoot everything repeatedly in the head/weak spot" be anywhere near as effective as it normally is, and sneak attacks being the only way to get really nice crits bugs the heck out of me. Lacking the ability to grab an accurate machine gun (for high speed headshots) or man-portable cannon/ballista/supercrossbow, i would totally do exactly that. Lots of armor, and whatever was the closest thing to a magical machine gun and/or cannon.

Pfffhh, Iron armor or none at all. Don't get me wrong, Ebony, Steel, Silver, it's "nice", but Iron came first, and quitely frankly, I fell in love at first sight back in Morrowind...then, Oblivion, it all just, slapped me in the face, so I f'd that shit and went for unarmored-style =/
